Who?

Mahmoud Chaer

Hi, my name is Mahmoud Chaer. I'm a Computer and Communication Engineering student at the American University of Beirut. Hopefully, the website will be helpful to you.

Why?

Eleva

Eleva began in April 2024. I was in the BDH (Engineers Library) with my friends, building our schedules for the upcoming fall semester. No matter which websites we used, there were always comments about things that could be improved. "Imagine if we could see each other's courses without constantly asking for screenshots whenever there’s an update." "I have three econ sections taught by the same professor; which one did you take so I can join you?" These were the kinds of ideas that came up while we were planning our schedules. That's when I thought, why not build a course scheduling software that meets all students' needs? I'll keep it simple and user-friendly so anyone can join whenever they wish. What helps is that I'm a user of this site myself, so I understand what students want in the ideal course scheduling software.

I figured, even if it failed, at least I’d have a course scheduling tool that I like and can use with my friends to make our lives easier. The more students use it, the more I realize there was a real need for it.

I thank everyone who uses the website today; it shows that as students, we truly understand each other.
